natural eye care tips and exercises for beautiful eyes

Staring and straining or the worse things you can do to your eyes. After a long day at work, the eyes are tired and need to relax and renew to improve vision. The constant strain day in and day out does nothing but damage the eyes. Below are three exercises design to remove the eye strain.

The first exercise is the Dot exercise. To do this find a period or comma on the page and focus on making it as clear as possible. Stare at the period until it comes into focus. Chances are after a few seconds the period will actually became less clear and blurry.

Try relaxing your eyes. Close them for a minute and let them relax. Now look at the period without straining. Don’t stare; instead, let your eyes slowly move around the page, over and around the period. Don’t focus only on the period, the eyes need movement. Make sure to blink a bit. Try closing your eyes and picturing the dot and then look at it again. Once the eyes are relaxed it should be easier to see the period.

The second exercise is the Word exercise. Find a word on the page that is five or more letters long. Stare at the word so that all the letters are in view, but don’t move the eyes. Focus entirely on the whole word trying to get the best image in your head. Again, staring and concentrating hard is going to cause the word to blur.

Now, relax your eyes and allow them to move slowly over, around, and across each letter of the word. Blink. Allow the eyes to lead you; don’t force them to look at what you want. The word should be clearer when you look at it again. Letter the eyes move around is what will help them work best without the strain.

The third exercise is the Double Vision exercise. This exercise is meant to get your eyes to work together as a team. Most people use one eye to look at an object, while the other eye does its own thing. Squinting can help bring an object into focus with both eyes, but this causes unnecessary stress.  The trick is to relax the eyes, focus on the object in a calm way, and allow both eyes to focus together.

Learning exercises to relax the eyes is a great way to develop lasting habits and ensure great eyesight for years to come.

Blurred Night Vision is Annoying - and Deadly

0 comments | Read more...
Vision and eye health are generally taken for granted by most people until they experience difficulty in seeing things, which may eventually lead to blindness. Eye health is thus important because it allows an individual to continue on with his or her daily life without undergoing difficulty in vision and possibly discomfort that is related to being blind. There are currently several methods that help in eye protection to prevent symptoms of going blind and maintain good eye health.

A recent medical report published by Drs. Mainster and Turner enumerated various types of glare that could affect eye health. In their report, the term “glare” does not simply indicate the occurrence of bright light that can cause squinting, but also the inability of the eyes to focus and to collect light to generate a high-contrast image. The glare that we see may thus not only involve bright headlights while driving at night, but also the conditions that affect vision during the day. It is therefore essential that eye protection measures be adapted to maintain eye health and prevent symptoms of going blind.

What This Means for Your Eye Health

According to the report, good eye health is generally observed when the eyes are capable of adapting to various light and dark environments. During the day, sudden exposure to sunlight may thus result in squinting, which is a natural response for eye protection. On the other hand, good eye health is also shown when we eventually adapt to a dark environment. The low level of light at night triggers an eye protection response, inducing the eyes to adapt to that particular low lighting condition.

Nightly blurred vision can become a problem when certain activities need to be performed in the dark or in the evening. For example, driving at night requires good eye health because this relies on the precise sight of the road, other vehicles, and people that may also be outside. In addition, the glare from approaching vehicles may also cause difficulty in vision and thus eye protection measures such as anti-glare eyeglasses may help in seeing things while driving and prevent the feeling of being blind.

Poor Eye Health Explained

The medical report explained that nightly blurred vision involves the scattering of light, thus resulting in a distorted perception of things around us. The quality of the image generated in the brain is thus significantly reduced due to poor eye health or early symptoms of going blind. In order to improve nightly blurred vision and general eye health, eye protection measures may be adapted, including the use of intraocular filter lenses that decrease the scattering of light. These lenses may also help in generating a clear image of the environment, thus preventing a feeling of being blind at night.

Nightly blurred vision can become annoying to certain individuals, especially when they are also active in the evening. It is also important to understand that nightly blurred vision does not only pertain to difficulty in seeing during the evenings, but also when entering dark places during the day. For example, driving into a tunnel is associated with a sudden decrease in illumination and thus for people with nightly blurred vision, eye protection measures may be helpful. The same experience of discomfort may occur when stepping out of a theater or driving out of a tunnel during the day, wherein the bright lights may cause sudden shock to the eyes. The use of eye protection lenses may thus help in addressing this vision problem.

There are also other natural ways for eye protection against nightly blurred vision. Consuming fruits and vegetables that contain vitamin A may help maintain good eye health and prevent going blind. The symptoms of eye problems should also be reported to one’s physician and eye doctor, for recommendations on eye protection measures against going blind. It may also be helpful to determine the actual cause of nightly blurred vision, including problems with the retina or photoreceptors of the eyes. Changes in these eye components may eventually result to a blind condition and thus the adaptation of eye protection measures may ease the discomfort of nightly blurred vision or symptoms of going blind.

seeing colored spots before your eyes

If you see a spot or shape pass in front of your field of vision or to the side, you are seeing a floater. They're inside the eye, and move with your eyes when you try to see them. You may also see flashes of light. These flashes tend to occur more often in older people and are usually caused by mechanical stimulation of photoreceptors when the vitreous pulls on the light-sensitive retina. They may be a warning sign of a detached retina. Flashes can also occur after a blow to the head, often called "seeing stars." I wouldn't be too worried, if you are you could always make an appointment for your optometrist.

i HAVE to say something for all of you concerned parents out there. there is a slight difference between the brightly colored spots or random shapes we see after looking at a light. these would be considered an "after image". an after image will follow the eyes - if you look up, it will move up. but what your children seem to be talking about is not an after image. if you can sit still and watch this colored circle move about on its own accord, than i can assure you it isn't the after image of light, or these optical phenomena that many eye doctors have told me of. ive spent several years researching and delving into too many different areas of this subject to even explain. ive come to the conclusion that this phenomena is definitely somewhat "super-natural". im not telling you that your children are seeing ghosts, or spirits. but what i am saying is that more than likely, your children (because they havent yet been conditioned to ignore these "unseen" things as taboo) are seeing energy; which is no more super-natural than penicillin - but rather something that science books don't teach us but what real scientists study extensively. in fact, einstein called this energy "orgone". other cultures & people use words such as prana, chi, life force, etc. one woman mentioned auras. these are two different things, & yet very related. an aura is the energy or vibration, manifested as color, that surrounds all living things. another possibility is that the "spinning circles" some see are our chakras.

I see circles or orbs, auras around anything and everything, lines that appear like grids of bright light in certain places (esp my bedroom), squiggly white things in the sky that change with each location. at night or in dim light and ESPECIALLY total darkness, i can sit and literally watch a lightshow for hours. whether my eyes are open or closed, i mostly see the same thing. dozens of colors and shades that dance & swirl & mingle with one another. something changing shapes. sometimes moving with one another. sometimes within these orbs if i close my eyes & rlly concentrate, i can see vague images of unfamiliar faces & situations. sometimes the bright colored lights appear as actual matter in the air. like molecules or atoms or something. anyway, ive noticed several similarities during my travels/research on this subject.

1. starts early in life, often goes away & then comes back intensely during puberty (esp for girls)

2. people who experience these phenomenas are almost always extremely intelligent, advanced in some way, sensitive (physically & emotionally), impulsive, hyperactive, creative, very curious, adventurous, imaginative & often appear to be "an old soul" of sorts..or on a different level of thinking and concentration.

3. have migraines, allergies, ADHD, ADD, sensitivities, sleep disorders (night terrors, sleepwalking, etc) and many more.

4.HEAD TRAUMA can bring upon these experiences, or intensify what was already there.

coming from someone who has only recently come to this passive and peaceful conclusion, i must say that your children are most likely not crazy, or sick. although, coming from a family with a very concerned greek mother (lol) i ALWAYS suggest seeing a doctor for any kind of problem..because there are NUMEROUS things that are VERY SERIOUS that can have very similar symptoms. some would include eye problems, epilepsy or other seizure disorder, mental illness (schizophrenia, etc), or even synesthesia (not so serious, & actually very interesting - look it up!) if you rule out everything else - ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION WITH DOCTORS...ALWAYS.. & your child is otherwise completely healthy, and also shares similarities with some of the things ive included..than i would suggest telling your children that its just a part of who they are. maybe share with them something about you that is unique. ask them to draw or paint a picture of what they see. become interested in learning about it. ask questions. be open. otherwise, dealing with things like this with poor coping skills can definitely start manifesting something beautiful into a mental illness in adulthood. don;'t let them feel alienated, because that's when children start PRIVATELY questioning life and the things they see. children just arent equipped enough to deal with weighing questions like that alone. dont let it get to that point. let them know that talking about it and expressing it is a good thing.when i was young and would mention the things i saw, including these orbs and auras, my parents would gently pass it off and assure me it was nothing. therefor i privately tossed these thoughts around in my head. i asked classmates, all of which looked at me like i was crazy. and so eventually, in early adulthood, i truly started feeling crazy. i started seeking answers. first it started with doctors - just about every kind you can think of. NOTHING WRONG. then i started seeing different therapists, ive had my brain scanned in every way a person can. ive had my eyes checked extensively.

i have also had several well respected psychologists and psychiatrists examine every aspect of my nature. almost every single one of these doctors told me that i showed NO signs of mental illness, except one who settled on schizophrenia as a last resort. i was HORRIFIED. finally, i found a doctor who gave me a full examination and over the course of a few months i finally told her why i was there - to find out what was wrong with me seeing these colors. she looked up from her book, smiled wildly, and said "what color am i?" and immediately i said "lavender" (her white walls behind her had lavender shades and lines) she again smiled gently and said "you're a bit eccentric. but you are far from crazy. what your seeing is probably just the aura. most children and animals see them - but social norms force young children to shut that part of their bodies off. you obviously have not. an indian shaman told me my aura was naturally lavender. and i find it interesting that you had the same answer".. anyway, after you're done worrying about your child's physical being, and after getting no other responses or answers from doctors, i would feel very comfortable with settling on that conclusion. regardless of your religion, culture, race, or identity; the energy i'm speaking of presents itself everywhere - and since the beginning of time. even christians spoke of the yellow/gold glow that surrounded jesus' head. the "halo" of light; his aura(: buddhists depicted buddha as having a halo of energy around him. look into it. AND REMEMBER - THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IN DEALING WITH THESE THINGS, ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN, IS TO ALWAAYSSSS KEEP A POSITIVE ENERGY AND ATTITUDE TOWARD IT. direct love and prayer toward anything negative your children are connecting with the colors. fear is the devil's tool, and darkness CANNOT exist where there is light (the one within all of us).

How to Improve a Lazy Eye When Using a Computer

1 comments | Read more...
Nowadays, most office workers and many other workforces require to use computers for working. Having to work on computers for hours and hours, day in day out, can result in eye strain or injury. Over time, vision may become impaired, eye pain may be felt and ability to adapt to different light may also reduce. Thus, to protect your eyes from getting such symptoms, here are some tips that you can easily follow for your own eye care.

1.Let your eyes rest sometimes:
Let your eyes have a break. It is better to leave your seat and find a distant target to look at for about 10 seconds until your vision becomes at infinite focus and your eyes become relaxed.

2.Move your eyes:
If you have to sit in front of your computer for hours and do not have a chance to leave your seat, you can do some eye movement exercises as follow:
• Move your eyes around clockwise.
• Move your eyes from left to right, from top to bottom.
Repeat it 3 times each for relaxing your eyes.

3.If you want to have a better eyesight then it is advisable to take lettuce leaf in your diet. Even the juice of lettuce leaf is also very much effective in improving your eyesight.

4. You can take herbal eyesight supplements such as I-Lite capsules to cure weak eyesight naturally and effectively.

5. Maintain correct computer posture:
Put your computer on a low table, or use a portable computer so your eyes look down when you work. Looking downward means more of the eye surface is covered by the eyelid, and two other things happen: the eyes unconsciously blink more, and they produce more lubrication.

6. Adjusting your screen distance:
The distance between your eyes and the screen should be from 50 to 70 cm and 10 to 20 cm lower than your eyesight. Since angles and distance can reduce refraction and lessen tiredness for your eyes.

7. Contact lens wear limit:
If you are a contact lens wearer and your eyes have very little tears secreted and easily get dry, you may wish to consider wearing normal glasses instead of contact lenses. People who use computers for long period of time should consider regular (e.g. 6 months) eye sight check-ups with an optician.

8. Food for sight (DHA):
Some kinds of sea fish contain DHA which can be good for the eye's retina and prevent eye injury and Cataract. The best sources include salmon, trout, sardines, herring and Arctic char. Vegetable wise; carrots, limes and green vegetables are also recommended for eyes. Seeds include antioxidants which can reduce eyes degeneration and may help preserve or improve eyesight.

9.Increase the intake of cabbage and carrots as they are very much beneficial for our eyesight.Oily fish are very much beneficial to improve the eyesight of any people. They are very much effective in improving our eyesight as they are rich in omega 3 fatty acids. You should include some of these things in your diet like sardines, salmon, tuna, mackerel etc. include these things in your regular diet if you wish to have a good eyesight.

The sun is great for your skin and gives us valuable Vitamin D. Each day find the time to spend at least an hour in the sun in the morning or evening. The sun has great healing powers and the natural light is as important as food, water, and air. Never look directly at the sun; of course, it can burn the retinas. Wear some kind of protection like a visor or hat to protect the eyes.

Televisions and computers are used in our daily lives but they are hard on the eyes. They force eyes to stare for too long and don’t offer the eyes enough movement. The distance and angle doesn’t ever change, so the eyes remain looking at a still object for too long.

The eyes are one of the most important of the five senses. We need them to see and enjoy the world around us. They allow us to read and get work done. They help remember images we once saw, and they keep our dreams alive at night. The eyes are also sensitive and vulnerable to outside damage.

The main cause of most eye ailments is mental stress and strain on the eyes. The key is to learn how to avoid strain in the first place. That is not always possible, so learning new habits to deal with strain is the next step.

Almost half the population in America wears some sort of artificial lens, glasses or contact lenses. Artificial lenses may help improve your vision, but it is just a temporary fix. Glasses and lenses can never fix your eye problems. Artificial lenses can help you see things more clearly, but they are mainly for the symptoms of eye problems and do not cure the actual ailment.

Wearing artificial lenses can make our eyes lazy and teach us many bad habits. Concentrate on fixing the problem of mental strain and don’t just cover up the problem.

Improving Eyesight -The Bates Method

0 comments | Read more...
Dr. William Bates spend years studying vision problems. He attended and graduated from Cornell University and became a teacher and researcher of ophthalmology in the New York area. Bates created many vision improvement methods and believed that anyone can see without glasses. His methods were developed teach the eyes ways to improve and heal themselves.

The Bates Method was developed to help school age children absorb more knowledge without straining their eyes. Dr. Bates learned that most bad habits and eye problems begin in school age children. Children have a natural curiosity to learn new things. However, when material is constantly shoved down their throats and they are forced to memorize tons of uninteresting information, the mind gets tired and the eyes start to strain.

Natural Perfect Vision Review

My name is "Mike" and I've recently bought the NaturalPerfectVision guide. This is my review of the product and it covers both pros and cons of this product.

What Is NaturalPerfectVision All About?

If you wear glasses, you would understand how annoying it is. Sometimes, it can be a hindrance. An example is sports. People who loves sports are hindered by wearing glasses. Moreover, some people simply don't like the way they look in glasses. Contacts are also available but they are a hassle and they irritate the eyes.

Lasik eye surgery is another option but it can be expensive and there is a risk in surgey. I've personally always been scared to do it myself. Here is where NaturalPerfectVision comes in.

Natural Perfect Vision is a product that applies to all visual problems at any age or gender. Visual problems may include near-sightedness, lazy eye, cross eye, macular degeneration, eyestrain, dyslexia, astigmatism, hyperopia, presbyopia, cataract, glaucoma, tension headache, light sensitivity, poor night vision, etc.

Improving Vision the Natural Way - Using All-Natural Improving Vision Techniques

By no means is poor eyesight an uncommon problem. Virtually every third guy you bump into is suffering from poor vision. Some wear reading glasses; some, for cosmetic reasons, prefer contact lenses; and some even look into the pros and cons of getting lasik surgery done. The common misconception surrounding poor eyesight is that it’s a problem you are stuck with for life. Short of a surgery, nothing can bring clarity to your vision again.

What most people do not know is that it’s possible to improve your eyesight naturally. The basic premise, as laid out by Dr. William Bates in the early 20th century, is this: how good your vision is depends on how well you use and exercise your eyes. He believed that excessive strain on the eye muscles caused damage, leading to eventual deterioration of the vision. Some bad habits we all are known to indulge in are focusing your eyes on one spot (like we do when watching television or working at the computer) and squinting or straining to get a better look at something in the distance.

Be healthy
Eye strain is when your eyes are overworked from activities such as driving, reading, exposure to bright light or using the computer for long periods of time. Typically resting your eyes allows them to heal from the eye strain but sometimes there is an underlying condition that needs attention. Eye strain can appear as headaches, dry or watery eyes, blurred or double vision and even sore neck, back or shoulders. Stress, fatigue and dry or moving air can make eye strain worse. Eye strain can reduce your ability to focus and it can be uncomfortable but you can reduce eye strain to optimize your vision.
